Type 44 turbo to exhaust pipe repair?

Mike,

I had one where the downpipe separated from the flange. I had it TIG
welded with high nickel rod and it has held good. I doubt that the turbo
flange would rot away to nothing. If it has, just get a used downpipe.
Start by removing the intake manifold and you will be able to see clearly.
You can remove the downpipe without removing the turbo. You may also be
able to weld the downpipe back on without removing it. Plan on cutting off
the wastegate bolts and grinding the wastegate flange smooth again if you
have to remove the downpipe.
