God knows Jon, I don't want you, your wife, or anyone else injured,
nor do I wish a winner to be declared. After all, you propped up your
rebuttal with the original across-the-group comparison, not I. The
fact is, in most cases, they -don't- compare, as IIHS/HLDI clearly
states. I simply pointed out that even a "gold" rating for a small
car may not be as good as a silver for a larger, heavier car. No
thanks on the Tahoe, can't afford/don't want one, regardless of age.
Semis and dumptrucks aside, because you're right they'll win hands
down in a collision (but don't travel as comfortably) ,
I don't think a Tahoe or an Escalade's going "through" an allroad.
I've seen pictures from two of my former customers of A4s that were
broadsided, one by an F350 Crew cab, and it was amazingly intact where
it counts. I'm also glad you're not curled up on the floor. That
would suck.
All the best, really. See you at VIR?
