Why are Fuchs wheels valuable?

This may sound like a silly question, but I'd like a refresher on why the
forged 15x7 et45 Fuchs sport wheels seem to hold their value better than
most other Audi factory rims of that vintage? It's become one of those
things that I "know" to be true, but I've never been completely clear on the
reason(s) why, except for a few fairly obvious things:
1) They're forged and thus lighter/stronger?
2) They're wider.
3) They're rare.
4) They were a seldom-chosen option.
Any other insights? My '86 rides on Fuchs and they do look very nice on the
car, but can someone confirm or discuss any other reasons why they're
valuable?
