of headaches, lists, and cars

Okay, the on-topic-ness of this is severely debatable, but reading this:

http://www.edge.org/q2006/q06_3.html#hoffman

I couldn't help but think of the quattro list when I read the bit
about discussing headaches. Anyone who has been on here recognizes
the pattern Hoffman describes, and the disconnect between your
problem and their problem.

The rest of it is great reading too, by the way- if you get a chance,
work your way though them (start here: http://www.edge.org/q2006/
q06_index.html ). The basic premise is that scientists were asked to
name their "most dangerous idea". There's some refreshingly free-
thinking commentary in there. Some of it is rather scary- for
example, that we have the capability to completely destroy our own
world, that democracy is on its way out, and free will isn't far
behind...and I'm talking about three different answers there :-)

Anyway, I didn't want to start a big off-topic discussion (although
discussing Hoffman's commentary in relation to mechanical breakdowns
and their on-list resolution would be amusing)...just wanted to throw
that out there for the curious. Back to your regularly scheduled
breakdown! :-)

Brett
