That's why you insert about a foot (35mm) of wire into the
splice, with the ends tucked into the door and kick panel.
The butt connectors shouldn't be left in the rubber boot.
And with about a dozen wires and 2 connections each, and
a $1 a shrink-jacket connector, it can get expen$ive.
