ISV on '89 A90

Having been bugged for an age with the idle on my '89 90 "hunting" - and
sometimes just cutting out, I thought I would make a start with the ISV.
Equipping myself with carb cleaner and a pair of light leads, I dived in,
screwdriver in hand. Now, this may be dumb, but I expected to see TWO
jubilee clips in there, one on the intake boot and one on the 4 way hose.
But there was no clip on the intake boot, and as far as I can see there had
never been one. Which may go some way to explain the erratic idle I have
been getting. So if you have an idle problem, it may pay you to just have a
look in there and make certain that both inlet & outlet are airtight, and
have a spare clip to hand.

Which I didn't    :-)
