88 80Q Fan Knob

I have a 88 80Q and the fan knob stops at # I and will not turn any  further, 
Pull off the knob and make sure it isn't slipping on the post.
You DON'T want to change the core it is the biggest PIA that I have ever  
encountered. 
If you suspect a clogged core.....  With the engine warm and the  fan off the 
inlet and outlet hose to the core should be equally hot, if  both are just 
warm, check your thermostat, if one is hotter than the other you  have a clogged 
core, if both are hot you have a problem with the air getting  thru the core 
(debris, flaps etc).
Look for trash or a broken screen in your air inlet, there is a lot of  foam 
wrapped around cables under the dash but that can't enter the ducts, there  is 
a foam gasket around the core and inlet that could deteriorate.
