Yes , remove the vacuum tube and plug it (check that advance diaphragm
holds the vacuum - new ones are hard to find), and set it on firing mark
on the flywheel and distr. hall sender, not on the cover. If you setting
it on the smog analyser, one can advance it for several degrees and
still be within the regulation. One of my HY engines is on 14%, the JS
is on 16%, both same distr. and diaphragm advance.
