Impact Wrench Recommendations

Just lurking in this thread, but:
I've always wondered why nobody so far has tried to make a true
adjustable-torque impact wrench. I don't understand why in "this day and
age" of computerized tools someone can't build an impact gun that knows how
much torque it is delivering and automatically varies the amount of air it
is consuming accordingly. Seems to me that a creative engineer could make a
fortune designing such a device, since I've never seen one, and there are
hundreds of millions of impact wrenches in use throughout the U.S., many
times by people who have to "finesse" the gun or use their accumulated
experience to "guesstimate" how much torque is being applied.
Why guess? Why hasn't someone figured out how to build an impact wrench
where you can simply turn a dial and set the torque?
