Are these wheels for real?

One of my Alfa friends sent me some images of an A4 with a new "wheel" 
technology that has deformable spokes instead of tires. There is a bit of 
tire surface on the exterior rim of the wheel, but essentially the bulk of 
the tire has been replaced with these spokes.

Is this for real? ? ? ?

And why am I always the last one to find out stuff ....
