Audi TT Quattro Turbo

Just drove a TT last night for the first time, a 2002 roadster. Another
close friend has entered the Audi fold.

I liked it. I drove al fresco but even still found the windshield surround
and 3 mirrors seemed like huge blind spots, but I would expect to get
accustomed to that. New Owner mentioned add'l blind spots with the top
up... I'm sure.

With my sore knee and another car parked next to it and the TT top up I was
able to get in without too much problem. Head room once inside was
excellent, possibly better than my t44 sedans.

The engine seems a bit peaky, but nothing that I wouldn't get used to
readily, having owned many other turbo cars. One of the New Owners's very
first comments was about turbo lag. Since I've known him he's owned a Cobra
Mustang, a 4cyl Jeep Wrangler, and currently, a Dodge Dakota V8, so his
impression is totally understandable.

I drove it about 3 miles and feel that I would have no trouble becoming very
comfortable with one, long term.

Still, the current S4 Cabriolet speaks to me much more loudly. That one
will have to wait no matter what else comes before it.
