BTW two other things: the vacuum feed line that supplies vaccum to the A/C
programmer is the hard plastic black line that should be right behind the
radio in the center console once you get the side covers off. That line is
the vacuum supply, and it connects to a one-way valve inside the programmer
itself. Then the solenoids are supposed to click on and off to regulate
vacuum to all of the other diaphragms in the system. If you're getting good
vacuum on that line whenever the engine is running, you should be OK as far
as that is concerned.

Also: I say that the solenoids inside the programmer are crap because they
are. They deteriorate and become marginal over the years, and then the
system doesn't work properly even if the head unit isn't reporting any
faults. I've had to replace mine with two "used" units to get it working
properly again. I can't even find the Delco part number for those solenoids
anywhere online, but they're just simple little vacuum solenoids, and if I
had a bucket full of them I could keep these AC programmers running until
the cows proverbially come home.
