I joined the q-list when it was first formed in 1991, hosted and
administered by Tom Haapanen.  Here is the initial roster post by Tom
consisting of 19 members:

Later that year the list was turned over to David Tahajian who hosted
it for some time before it was transferred to Dan Simoes who remains
the listmeister today.

This is the earlist post I could find from myself in the archives
(dated June 1991), there were probably earlier ones, but the archives
may be incomplete from those early days.
