In the US we often only saw the "upscale" versions of the cars, 
especially as the 80's moved along.  Since the 90Q20v would have been 
the top of the line (of the small cars), most or all the cars imported 
would have had "all options," including leather interiors.  But that 
ignores special orders, and the quattro script seats may have also been 
considered "premium" and brought in "on spec" too.

The main issue there is power versus manual seats - the front mounting 
is different (rear tracks the same).  Power seats were much more likely 
on a 90Q, and much less likely on an 80 (Q).
