Recharged hydraulic accumulator

Next project is the dying hydraulic accumulator (ie Bomb). Does anyone have any experience or thoughts as to the various options for addressing this, i.e.

1.) Purchasing a new accumulator, approximately $300-$400...

2.) Using a recharged accumulator, $79+shipping, as advertised in the Audi marketplace, or at
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/desmo888/audibomb.html

3.) Replacing the hydraulic brake assist by switching to a vacuum assist master cylinder like on the 93 and up 90 models

Furthermore, any comments on the level of difficulty of this job for a do-it yourself? I've read the process and it doesn't sound that hard, but given the location of the parts, it seems pretty hard to get to them without the car on some kind of a hoist.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions

Charles
