LAC: Wow! Tire Pressure!

The recommendation on your vehicle should be the lower limit.  I typically
go above that.  It depends a bit on the tires and the vehicle, but I rarely
if ever go to the tire's max psi.  

Just aired up a set for one of my v8's.  They are one size larger than stock
at 225/60-15 and the tires Dunlop SP5000 tends to have a somewhat soft
sidewall.  Car's recommended pressure is 36, tire's max is 51.  I inflated
them to 40 with fuel economy in mind.
