Haha, no, all that would be on the car is the connector.  If a 9v 
battery is enough to run the "unlock" cycle once, it would be a good 
versatile choice.

This would allow me to use a fresh 9v battery as a "car key" in case the 
car battery died.  Or if I lost the remote...
