Removing front dash speaker grills

The screws holding the speakers can be removed thru
the dash vent openings but it is tough. Requires short
srcewdriver, skinny hand, bending the air duct to the
vent and probably a band-aid or 2. I would probably
drop the glove box on the passenger side and the under
dash panel on the driver side. The dash vents still
have to come out and the ducting to the dash vent is
in the way. 2 Philips screws per speaker. 
I have never seen a nicely done transplant of an
aftermarket speaker into a 4000. I am sure that are
some out there but I have never seen one. The small
speaker is glued or moulded into the grill/trim piece
and you will have to cut/carve/grind it out without
destroying the grill/trim piece. then you have to find
a small speaker that will fit into the grill/trim
piece. I probably have 1 or 2 used speakers from a
4000 out in the garage, you could have them to
practice surgery on before you tear yours up.
