Welcome to the ... er, club. MUAHAHAHAHAH. I've been here for about ten
years and it just keeps getting better and better! And I mean that
sincerely! :)

Others have told you about some good parts sources, also don't forget Force5
in case nobody has mentioned it thusfar for used parts (
http://www.force5auto.com) and yes, I've bought some parts from Blau
recently because occasionally they have some good package deals. If you're
looking at a total driveshaft rebuild, for example, I don't know of anyone
who does it as well as Blau does. I haven't had any trouble with their
service when I've needed it.

Also, and this is almost anathema here sometimes, but do try plugging your
Audi model number into eBay every once in a while. I do a search on "Audi
5000" once a week there and I've found a few deals. In fact, I bought my
'86 5KCSTQ from an ad on eBay, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

In the past six months, I've bought parts, services, and/or
entire automobiles from:

Audifans marketplace (3 times), SJMAutotechnik (once), Blaufergnugen
(twice), Shokan (once), Force5 (twice), eBay (four times, including an
entire car and an MC-1 engine), Dave Kase, Ben Swann and a few others. Don't
rely on a single source and shop around. There is a big community out here,
and you can find the parts.

Also, a minor gripe: the Service listings for reputable service shops in
the northeast needs updating badly. I called a few of them to find out
about the bushings for my rear trapezoidal arms (which I bought from Blau)
and a lot of the shops listed in the Northeast section are no longer
available.

Cheers,
Alex Kowalski
