Another Thought On Intermittent Start Issues

... after sending my earlier post I remembered a similar situation on my old '88 5kCSQ Avant. From time to time ... usually when SWMBO was driving ... the car would fail to crank with the ignition switch. I beat on that one a very long time because it was so intermittent ... usually when I got to the car to check it out the problem was fixed. Final cause? The ground lug at the battery end was loose where it bolted to the frame of the car. I don't know if the A4 has a battery under the back seat ... not sure it really matters ... just be sure to check the connections at the battery to ensure they are all appropriately snugged ...
