Sure, sure, all that sounds funny.  ;)

Are there any towing eyelets mounted to the front bumper on that car?  I
know that on my '87 5KCSTQ one of the front towing eyelets recently snuck
its way loose and was rattling around down there, driving me crazy until I
figured out what it was.

The squirrels had nothing to do with it.  So they claim.  ;)
