Buying an A6 or A8 - things to look for?

After owning an A6 2.7t for the past 3 years, I can talk about some of the
things I have had to deal with.
- MAF sensor went bad. Known issue. replaced under 70K emissions warranty
- crank case ventalation hoses are known to get brittle over time. Mine had
moisture in them that froze on a really cold day and caused excessive
pressure in the crank case. I pulled over before damage was done. I had a
local shop replace the hoses with the upgraded '01 variety.
- the climate control went south. After some diagnosis with a VAG-COM, I
figured it was the head unit. The same local shop had a A6 parts car that
the got the head unit from for my car. I was good to go with a $200 bill.
not as bad as I had feared.
The rest has been "normal" stuff. I had the timing belt and related stuff
changed under 75K miles. I've done brake pads myself. I've done oil and air
filter changes. I'm about to do spark plugs. I've replaced the bypass
valves.
Since the A6 version of the 2.7t has a different ECU, I'm told the
engine/turbos aren't as stressed as they are in the S4. So, with regular oil
changes and periodic checks for intake leaks, the turbos should stay happy
(mine are).

PS. I'd like to sell mine to get a VW TDI..I just don't need that big a car
anymore... know anyone interested? :-)
