Don't worry about it -- Spring is just around the corner. ;)

I think you guessed your problem. The drains can become 
clogged. A slow drain may freeze up and clog.  

To unclog it, wait for a warm day, to give it a chance to melt.
Then run a length of weed-whacker trimmer line through the 
drain tube. The trimmer line is thick and stiff, but unlike metal
wire, it won't (or shouldn't) puncture the tube..
