Wheel bolt woes

Helicoil=Band-aid?? I don't understand that logic. I worked in the Aerospace
community for 22 years. Helicoils were used in all of the CNC machined
parts. Not just in the aluminum alloy, T6061 for example, but other strong
light weight metals. Helicoils were also used in the 7XXX series of aluminum
alloy, where more strength was required. I sure don't remember the helicoil
as a part that failed. In fact, some were destroyed by the assembly line, in
the process of assembly. Re-drilled the hole, added a new helicoil and good
to go. A quality part.
