Greetings all,

I have noticed that when making a right hand turn in
my 86 4k, there is some bumping/thumping noise.  Only
right turns.  In looking at the area, I noticed the
sway bar attachment from the sway bar to the control arm was
sheared off.  It is the small bar threaded on both
ends, one goes into the sway bar, the other into the
control arm.  Bottom half missing as I assume it fell
out.  Don't recall hitting anything and the break looked
old.  Maybe I never noticed before.  Anybody know
where I can get just this short connector bar?

Will alos look into the nosie as I assume it is the
ball joint?

Here are the part numbers that you need to know for the sway bar end link assembly:

end link(1)                     855 407 469
cup washer(4)                857 407 477A
self lock end nut  M8(2)   N 011 184 9
sway bar end bush(1)      857 407 473A
sway bar end bush
spacer tube(1)                857 407 479A
control arm link bush(1)   857 407 474
control arm link bush

The number in parens is the quantity per side.

Your end link is used in:
82-87 4k
81-87 CGT
88-92 80/90/80q/90q

4kq end links will not fit.

Clairparts(800/354-5100) has the cheapest $$ for the bushings  -- $1.75/ea.  They'll prolly have the cheapest $$ n the other items.  
The end link itself might be pricey.  In Jan. '06 there was a Marketplace Parts FS for these end links.  However, the ad has gone into space.....  If a lister doesn't provide a used one, ask Clair for a price.  Dealer price is approx $30/ea.
