Now that's the kind of post I like to see;  repairing instead of replacing.
I suspect that most of the window motors replaced could have been repaired.
On the early Audi's there were too many connection points between the
switches and the motors not to mention the fact that they were not relayed
to reduce current draw except at the motor.
