(was) 1987 5KTQ Coil Test

Hi Doyt.

I got to the shop today. The book says your intake air
sensor should read between 400 and 700 ohms. Mine
read 495 ohms at 24 deg.C. The error code for a bad
sensor is 2322. There are different versions of this sensor
having different resistances and with different p/n suffixes.
I can provide a p/n if necessary.

The wiring to the ECU is as follows:
Sensor connector (if installed) pin 1 to ECU pin 23
Sensor connector (if installed) pin 2 to ECU pin 24

If 'bad' sensor code but good resistance reading, check
wiring, e.g. 400 to 700 ohms across ECU pins 23 and 24.

Your car may have the sensor soldered in with no connector
as mine was. There is a connector kit to turn that into a
more normal, disconnectable arrangement. Must be a TSB
on it.

Hope this helps.

DeWitt
