Langs were equipped with both the 4.2L and the 3.6L V8 engines, and many an
option that was never available on lesser Audi's, including hydraulic
suspension, Webasco self contained heaters, exotic woods and hide
appointments etc.
The lang was a factory built V8 Quattro, the main difference from production
V8Q's being the length and wheel-base. Both the lang and the regular V8Q had
initial sales in Europe starting in September of 1988.
The V8 Quattro has a wheel-base of 270 cm, the lang has a wheel-base of 301
cm.
The length of the V8 Quattro is 486 cm, while the lang is a leg stretching
519 cm.
No V8 Quattro Langs were officially (or unofficially as far as I know)
imported into the USA.
