Gasoline Smell

Hi Max,

I took the tank out and brought it to a tank repair
shop. They evacuated the fumes and braze welded over
the corrosion. You could eat off the rest of the tank
it was that pristine.

I replaced the rubber seal that the lines pass
through...the fuel leak had deteriorated the rubber to
the point where it was soft and lost alot of
elasticity. I didn't take any pictures..sorry. If I
recall correctly there was a steel snap ring that kept
the seal in place...mine was rusted and I hadn't
ordered a replacement so I made do. If this is your
problem, and you need a new seal as well, order the
ring...shouldn't be expensive.
