"run by engineers" Oh sure, and am I the only one who remembers "Porsche  
Design" sunglasses?
 
"marketing a#$holes"? Nothing new there! It is too bad that Dr. Porsche  
never lived to see the "Porsche Family Crest". That was invented by their U.S.  
distributor. Max Hoffman was it? The same guy who put the tool kits in the  
trunks of BMW's, he thought that would impress Americans too. That was back in  
the 50's and 60's.
 
I had one of those "hand built", "signed engine" 356's when it was new.  When 
I can't sleep, I count the number of times I replaced the window crank  
mechanism.
