I started the money order thread and I meant bank, not postal, money
orders.  Here in Canada banks issue a money order with the name and address
of the recipient printed on them, uncashable by anyone else.  Bought a car
with one in the amount of over $14000.  The PO, financial manager, payed off
the outstanding balance on his loan with another one worth about $1500.  PO
on the west coast, loaner way east in Quebec, all settled in one day with a
long-distance phone call, 2 days after Christmas, no problems.  Even the
banks were closed that day.
