captive nut repair question

You're welcome Jim!!

But first dig around and see if your car's chassis has
an orifice in the area to R&R that captive nut.

Now, there's the debate of structural liability if one
drills a small hole, big enough to R&R that captive
nut.

I don't think such a hole whole affect the structure
of the chassis, but I'm not an engineer. If I do end
up drilling a hole in my QSW's chassis, I will for
sure rust proof it and plug it with a rubber grommet.

Do a search for the thread, some other ideas were also
discussed.
