Clutch disc confusion

Mr. Bentley's drawings of how the clutch/pressure plate relate look like 
the side of the disc in the pix at 
http://www.pbase.com/kneale_brownson/image/68746052 goes toward the 
pressure plate (namely, the drawings on page 30.9 and 30.7) But the 
accompanying text says "Spring cage faces pressure plate". So, if you look 
at the next photo http://www.pbase.com/kneale_brownson/image/68746480 
there is a spriing cage with little yellow springs. Is that supposed to 
face the pressure plate?????
