Amsoil's synthetic transmission oils (both the regular and heavy  
duty; I forget the product names) are GL4 compatible.   I have emails  
from Amsoil's help-line people assuring me of this, from about 2  
years ago.

--SOME-- GL-5 rated fluids are not compatible because additives used  
to meet GL-5 specs are not compatible with bronze.  GL-5 is not a  
"kind" of oil, it is a rating/specification, and oils can meet both-  
just like they can meet any of dozens of manufacturer ratings/ 
specifications.
