This sounds like it's making a good case for my previously reported
practice of spraying a penetrating lube with teflon in it into the doorjamb
fixture at least twice a year. I go around to all the Audis in my yard
with this spray can and one of those little red straws and lube the locks,
the doorjamb fixture and the handles. I started doing this when I had
several Team Doorhandle era cars (down to one useable 4kq now) after a
couple of broken handles, and I've never had another one. The stuff I use
is made by Radiator Specialty Co. and sold under its Gunk brand. It's
product # L5-08. For the flush door handles on my 200s and V8s, I pull the
lever out and run the straw in between the handle and the opening in the
doorskin. Keeps the handles opening smoothly and easily.
