no i've not driven it, but i don't imagine that it's going to be too inspiring.
2.5 D in a van that big is going to be enough power, but not by much.
the guy is a builder so it suits him to be able to pull a full trailer and he is not worried that he'll never get anywhere near warp 2.
my wife's cousin in Bordeaux (fr) had a 2.5TDI westfalia LWB 1996, and that was nice.
the turbo and electronic injection made if fly.
the questions on the list about fitting VW 2.5TDI industrial engines to T44s is a good way to go. the ancilliaries should be available in the market 'cos the 2.5d made it over here.
FYI in europe the top of the range 97-on passat was the 3.2L V6 syncro, but TDI not petrol
