Engine block heater

Probably stuck to the bottom of the oil pan. Audi & VW have been using the
stick-on oil heaters for a number of years. Every now and then one falls off
and sets the belly pan on fire. This has incinerated a few cars. It
incinerated my brother's friend's house because his TDI caught fire in the
garage - don't know why he had it plugged in inside the garage, but he
probably won't do it again. If you have an in-block heater, it will be in
the left front frost plug.

I bought a used 1999 A4 (6 cyl) and it is getting cold up here.!
The woman I bought from said no engine heater was installed-- but-- she
also didn't know there was a cd changer in the trunk!
IF a block heater is present-- please--- where on the engine would it be??
Thanks very much-- Rick
