Audi parts for an old car

As people have mentioned, just be glad you can still get them!

Now, since they're a pain to replace, are you able to figure out why 
they are "disposable"?  Is it something that can be remedied?

I really doubt it... I have some old stuff in the attic, but I doubt I 
saved any seats.  I do have a CIS system or two and some of the parts 
that go with it.
