Audi Recalls

I had the good fortune of getting an engine rebuild on my first Audi due to
a class action suit concerning valve sleeves causing excess oil consumption.
I had just pruchased the car used and was doing some research when I found
some press release with a phone number. The recall was just about to expire
so I took in to my mechaninc and had him do the work hoping that they would
reimburse me. After some haggling they did.......my recollection of the
settlement was that it expired. I suppose safety stuff never expires
but........no experience there.
