The folks have a 'new' (06) A6 as well, pretty stripped options-
wise. Yours have an excessively bouncy ride as well? Don't get me
(or my mother) started about how you have to "acknowledge" a warning
every time you want to use the damn radio. Or that the seat memory
buttons are where you usually push. Anyway- the car knows what its
mileage is and such, as it gives "miles to go" in the info cluster,
but there appear to be no other trip computer functions.

While I was trying to figure all this out, I came across a model-year
change press release from AoA. Ever seen one? It's hilarious. A
never-ending shell game of what's included in what package, what's
standard, this ugly-wheel-from-the-s-line-package-now-standard,
boring details only a German marketdroid could find interesting like
"front spoiler enhanced with ridge to reduce drag", or some new
"feature" that really was a "problem" with last year's model. Like
the stunning ability for the changer mechanisms to play mp3 data CDs,
something most aftermarket head units have done for half a decade, at
least. Last year, I slapped my forehead when someone told me that
the "nav plus" radio head units were not iPod compatible. After all,
those iPods are so new-fangled and rare, with Apple selling at least
several million units a year...
