Sorry to be a pest, but I am in the process of buying a 96 A4 as a
winter backup for my 93 S4 and wanted to run a quick carfax on it.
Email me off list if you have an open account.
Thanks!

Hi Robin Hood,
I think your problem may be that you have more than one email address on
the
Q list. I've had that problem more than once. The last time I looked
the
registry is down for maintenance and you probably have an email address
there that hasn't been changed. Also, you must send mail to the Q list
with
the same email address that you receive email from the list with.
HTH.
Cheers!

Just got it, display is extremely faint, gone in most areas. Is this an
easy
repair? It is the center digital display in the instrument cluster.
Anyone
BTDT?

You need to replace the whole cluster. The LCD screen is not repairable
or
replaceable as a separate part. You can get "rebuilt" clusters from your
dealer for ~$450 (some dealers charge more, but you can get them online
for
that much).

That's how the local yahoo garage messed up my 91 200 TQ20V. I took it
in
and rolled the timing mark on the flywheel and showed them the damper
mark
being off. They fixed it and magically the car was great!

Does your 89 200TQA need to know this?
If the car has a crank position sensor and an ECM, then the only mark
you
need is TDC ( the | ) for cam timing assembly.
I don't know the 89 200, sounds old enough to have a distributor,
disregard
my bs if it does.

Of course, they can be half excused, if their experience is minimal,
since a lot of old 'murkin trucks have the timing mark, and even a
little advance guide, on the front at the crank pulley.

Is this a hint that the replying etiquette is 'below' rather
than 'above'?
that's one of the fascinating debates that was raging last time I was
looking at this list. What was the outcome of that one?
Anyway, I had the 'receiving digest, but posts getting lost'
problem just
start up randomly one day prolly over a year ago. I only just set up
this
present account a couple of days ago, so there has been no duplication
of
any sort till now.
So I'm gonna follow the good peoples advice and un-sub my 'home'
account
for a while and then try and re-sub.
Cheers Rob.
