200 trunk power lock

This problem is well documented on Chris Miller's 200q20v website. The
system works fine except it corrodes. Some folks have removed the ball.
I've gotten by on two same-era Audis by sliding a sharp, stiff putty knife
between the metal plates and squirting in first some Kroil and, a day or
two later, some more permanent lubricant like white lithium grease or
Gunk's spray lubricant with teflon.
