I was recently on a trip out West and rented a Chrysler Pacifica. It had
one of these "all or nothing” displays. At the time I commented to my
traveling companions about the similarity to the system I've seen in the
Mercedes S class. Two words...IT SUCKED! Just about everything you
tried to do with the system would give you a "Function only available
with vehicle stopped and in Park." Just wonderful, especially when you
have a passenger who could be playing with the thing while you drive, I
think I would have preferred the Audi single disclaimer to this.

The rental was about two weeks ago, today I received a letter and
questionnaire from Daimler Chrysler, evidently this system was placed in
some rentals as a test bed, and they're interested in my "important and
valuable" feedback. I can't see how anyone would report a positive
experience with this thing, so hopefully marketing is talking with
engineering at one German company.

One of the last questions is "What would you consider your most positive
experience with the system." My answer: "Best thing about having a car
equipped with this was the Thank You Voucher you sent me for 3 free car
rentals."
