I agree. I work in IT as a Network and Telecom Consultant, and I always
suggest using best of breed systems.
- Mac for graphics
- Linux for servers
- Unix for mainframes
- Palm for mobility
- MS Windows for...solitaire?
All joking aside, Windows XP and/or Server 2003 are very good for graphics
especially with a good modern graphics card and either Adobe PS or
MacroMedia Fireworks MX. They will give OS X a good run for the money, and
the systems are vastly less expensive to acquire, maintain, and upgrade.
And again, I totally agree with the sentiment that Nikon makes an EXCELLENT
camera. Thats what I shoot with too. And my two backups are a Nikon F1 and a
Nikormat FTN (the Nikormat FTN is actually my favorite camera). And the
Nikon F1 is the favorite "backup" 35mm of many (most?) pro photographers for
when they need to shoot film rather than digital. The fact that an OLD Nikon
35mm camera is still the favorite of many pros really tells you something
about the quality of the camera. Plus, Nikor lenses are some of the best
made, there are even adaptors avaialble to let you use a Nikor lense on a
Canon body. lol
