I doubt if they're radically different - the main thing to watch for is 
the side that the pos and neg terminals are on, then it's mostly a 
matter of whether they fit the tray & clamp.

For what you are suggesting that ought to be enough.  If you end up 
buying a new battery to replace one, put them back where they started if 
they appear different enough.
