Getting Fed Up with 17-in Low Profile Tires.....

My B5 S4 (225-45-17) came with the famous bubble prone RE040's and 3 of those died well before their tread life was over. Changed to Toyo T1-S, and they wore out amazingly fast, wore heavily (strangely) on the inside, and had substantial tread separation issues. Just changed to Conti SportContact and within 1 week, a bubble appears in a sidewall! I know exactly what caused it and it wasn't much.

During the winter months, I have used both Nokian NRW and (currently) WR in size 205-55-16. I have hit much bigger potholes and poorly done road patches with these without any sidewall issues.

So....does anyone have experience with decent performance 225-45-17 tires that are known to be (as much as possible) sidewall bubble free? I am more than ready to trade some "ultra" and "max" performance attributes for some frotting lifespan! I have always preferred wet weather capabilities over ultimate 10/10s handling ability.

Any good options? I am thinking about WRs in 225-45-17 except they are so expensive.
