cooling fans stay on so long that they drain my battery

Hi All
Does anyone know where I can buy an after-run relay for a 5KTQ 88. The part 
number on the relay is 447-965-571. When I talked to the VW dealer he said the 
part cost $177. When I look on line the part number seams to be no good.
