It only changed last year, so you've only been fooled for the last year or
so.

and +1 on the i-5 thirst for 'lighter' oils. the a4 seems happy on m1 040.


Agreed on the M1 0W40 for the A4, that seems to be the best grade that I've
used, but the formulation has changed now.

If you can still get Pennzoil Platinum from before the changeover, that is
the best price/performance out there. Only 5W30, 10W30 and 0W20, though.

If you don't mind paying $5-6 per quart, then German Castrol is one of the
few still available- you can get it at Autozone- only 10W30 Syntec, and even
then, you must check to see that it's made in Germany. All PAO base,
confirmed by the oil geeks at BITOG.
