Integrate a Motorola Razor into a 2001 A6?

Is there any way to make the steering-wheel buttons for phone work a  
current-model Razor phone?
 
I am pretty sure this car was before Bluetooth, but could some kind of  
harness be installed to plug the phone into, and use the hands-free of the  car?
 
BTW, what are those steering-wheel buttons supposed to do?  Operate a  
Audi-specific phone?
