I completely buggered my firing sequence when replacing plugs, cap, rotor, wires last year and my 90q did the same thing. Turned over, wouldn't start, and stopped with a clunk after a few seconds. Heavy fuel smell also. Fixed the firing sequence, started immediately.
I buggered it by working from the passenger side of the motor, and, working left to right, installed the ignition wires backwards (#5 was #1, etc...). I was an idiot.
